The next engagement strategy seminar with David Macleod will be held in Coventry in March 2012 (date to be agreed)
The last seminar with David Macleod, chair of the Government's Engagement Task Force, was held at The Training Foundation in Coventry Nov 3rd and was very well received by attendees.
David explained that the 'movement' is driven by the Task Force, supported by Sponsors, and by Practitioner and Guru groups. He announced that 8 strands have been defined by the Task Force. The Practitioner and Guru groups are also undertaking a similar exercise to develop a coherent plan of action.
Members of the Rules of Engagement LinkedIn group can access David's slide presentation via a link on the group homepage.

"I had an enjoyable day - opportunity for discussion and networking with fellow professionals across a range of industries. There was a good mix between presentations and activities, broke the day up well and allowed a lot of information to be delivered in a short time. David Macleod’s presentation was excellent, highly engaging and thought-provoking. I also liked the mix of pragmatism and discussion of direct application to the workplace, but underpinned with theory and research to lend greater validity to what was being discussed. Good ‘takeaways’ – not too much reading material, but sufficient to summarise the key points presented throughout the day and offering the opportunity to find out more as required. Very welcoming staff and environment – a small thing, but it makes a big difference!"
Helen Hansell, OD Consultant, Friends Provident
"Very informative and a good day's programme and content. Excellent presentations by all presenters, good pace, active engagement with the audience. Right approach to incorporate break out sessions and group work allowing for feedback on key questions to be shared. Allowed time to re-appraise and re-assess the important basics that should apply in my organisation. Overall an excellent day and a good chance to network. Many thanks."
David Mills, L&D Manager, SPIE Matthew Hall
"It was such a fantastic day, it provided a real opportunity to re-visit and challenge my thinking around Engagement. It was also useful for building up a network of contacts."

Ray Harrison, Head of Operational Training, Barclaycard
"It was a really uplifting day and I thoroughly enjoyed hearing David Mcleod and also some underpinning evdence about engagement which I had not seen in detail before. The format of the day was good, especially for the numbers of people there, and making it interactive made the time pass very quickly."
Sue Macdonald, Head of Organisational Development, Midland Heart
"Excellent day. Superb content, speakers and great interaction too!"
Jim Sproat, Director, Organised Feedback
"I found the event highly thought-provoking. I particularly enjoyed meeting L&D professionals and business owners to hear about their experiences and engagement strategies. My highlight was the stimulating questions we discussed in groups in the afternoon – there were six questions in all, and each group looked at two each. I have continued to think about these questions over the weekend and no doubt will for some time to come."
Naomi Buttton, L&D Manager, Mamas & Papas
"Wednesday was a great day!"
