Developing your training career in the NHS

More than 2,000 trainers working in the NHS are now TAP-certified, either for classroom training skills or for successful completion of e-learning courses including the NHS e-tutor course. This is surely a world record for any single employer!  Actually, TAP is a generic programme and offers all NHS trainers a wide range of skills courses with Certification ranging from Level 3 (Training Delivery Skills, Coaching Skills, e-tutor Skills) through Level 4 (Facilitation Skills, Training Design & Development Skills) to Level 5 (Diplomas in Learning & Development, e-Learning and Blended Learning).

With job grades now closely linked to salary scales, and qualifications being closely aligned with job grades, it makes sense for all NHS trainers to achieve the highest available Certification relevant to their job role. The NHS March 2006 Health Informatics Qualifications Mapping report listed the TAP certificates as recognised qualifications.
